TRADING & LIQUIDITY: SCOTT JACOBSON – JEFFRIES & CO INC

Scott Jacobson is an Investment Strategist and proprietary equity trader at Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. Mr. Jacobson, who joined Jefferies in January 1999, publishes commentary on the US markets. He also trades stocks, options and other equity derivative instruments for the firm and its clients. He uses proprietary models and systems to manage relative value portfolios and long/short strategies, and structures and provides over- the-counter equity derivatives for clients. Before joining Jefferies, he was a senior proprietary equity trader for Cargill Financial Services Corporation, the financial investing and trading arm of Cargill. Prior to that position, he was a Vice President and fixed-income portfolio manager at Piper Capital Management and, before that, a manager in the mortgage- and asset-backed securities group for Deloitte & Touche. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a BS in Computer Science and a BBA in Accounting from the University of North Dakota.
