TOD JOHNSON, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Media Metrix,
also serves as the Chairman and CEO of The NPD Group, Inc. As CEO of NPD
since 1971, Mr. Johnson has transformed NPD into a top-10 market
research firm with international reach, cutting-edge electronic
information technologies, and an expanded range of industry coverage.
Mr. Johnson is a widely recognized expert on brand loyalty, a subject on
which he has regularly published since 1982. He has served as Chairman
of the Advertising Research Foundation (1990), and was the founding
chairman of the Council for Marketing and Opinion Research (1992 to
1994). Mr. Johnson earned both a Masters of Science and Bachelor of
Science, both in industrial administration, at Carnegie-Mellon
University, where he is currently a Trustee and Chairman of the Capital
