THOR J. BORGFORD is President, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of
Twinstrand Therapeutics Inc. He received a PhD
(Microbiology/Biochemistry) from the University of Manitoba and
postdoctoral training in the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College
of Science and Technology in London (1984-1987) and the Department of
Biochemistry at the University of Alberta (1987-1989). Dr. Borgford is
currently a member of the Board of Directors of AceTech, a not-for-
profit organization of high-tech and biotech CEOs. He is also an Adjunct
Professor at Simon Fraser University and co-author of over 40 peer
reviewed journal articles and abstracts concerned with protein
engineering. Dr. Borgford is the primary inventor and author of
Twinstrand's patents. Dr. Borgford formerly held tenured faculty
appointments in the Departments of Chemistry and Molecular Biology and
Biochemistry at Simon Fraser University (1989'2002) and served as member
(1992-1996) and Chair (1995-1996) of the Science Council of British
Columbia's Biotechnology Grant Selection Committee. He also served as
executive member of the Board of Directors of the BC Biotechnology
