Thomas Wimsett – National Processing Company (nap)

THOMAS A. WIMSETT is President and Chief Executive Officer of National Processing Company LLC (NPC'). He was elected to his current position in 1999. Prior to his current role, Mr. Wimsett served as Executive Vice President of NPC's Merchant Card Services. This business now represents approximately 95% of NPC's revenues and is the second largest merchant card processor in the country, handling nearly one out of every five MasterCard' and Visa' transactions in the nation. From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Wimsett served as President of NPC's wholly owned subsidiary, NPC Check Services, Inc. In this position he was responsible for managing one of the largest check acceptance companies in the United States. Prior to 1995, Mr. Wimsett held key management positions in several other operating divisions of NPC, including NPC's Payment Services division, which settles over $85 billion per year to over 110,000 travel agents for major travel providers such as airlines, hotels, rental car companies and cruise lines. From 1988 to 1992, Mr. Wimsett played a key role in the establishment and growth of NPC's international transaction processing operation in Juarez, Mexico. Mr. Wimsett began his career with NPC in 1983. Mr. Wimsett is a member of the Electronic Transaction Association's Board of Directors. He is also a member of the National Retail Federation (NRF) and the Association for Financial Professionals. He received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Louisville where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, and attended graduate school at the University of Texas at El Paso.
