Thomas Smith – Pseg (peg)

THOMAS R. SMITH became Executive Vice President'Operations and Development, PSEG Power and President of PSEG Fossil in October 2000. Mr. Smith joined PSEG Global Inc. as Senior Vice President, Americas Region in November 1996. In this capacity, he was responsible for all of PSEG Global's business activities in North and South America, which include the region's strategic growth plan, business development, project management and operations, and maintenance activities. Before joining PSEG Global, Mr. Smith was Senior Vice President and Regional Executive of Latin America for the International Generating Company (InterGen), a Bechtel and PG&E company. Having been with InterGen since its inception, Mr. Smith built the Latin American organization and contributed extensively to its project portfolio. Mr. Smith launched his career in the Independent Power industry as one of the principal architects for J. Makowski Company, which was acquired by Bechtel and PG&E company in 1994. Prior to this, he worked in the power systems division at the General Electric Company. Mr. Smith received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and also holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Profile
