THOMAS G. CIGARRAN serves as Chairman and CEO of American Healthways,
Inc., a healthcare management company headquartered in Nashville that
provides comprehensive care enhancement services to over 450,000 health
plan equivalent lives in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and
Puerto Rico. AMHC also operates hospital-based programs for the
treatment of diabetes in over 70 hospitals nationwide. Mr. Cigarran also
serves as Chairman of AmSurg Corp., a single specialty practice-based
ambulatory surgery center company which was spun off from American
Healthways into a separate public company in December 1997. He has
served as a Director of International Clinical Laboratories, Inc.,
Corporate Family Solutions, Inc., Clintrials Research, Inc., Meretek
Diagnostics, Inc. and Genderm, Inc. He currently serves as President of
The Learning Plus Foundation, a Nashville-based not-for-profit
organization working with the Metropolitan Nashville Public School
system. Mr. Cigarran received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology
from Villanova University and a Master of Business Administration degree
from the New York University Graduate School of Business. Profile
