Franki Chung rejoined Barings Asset Management (Asia) in 2007 to manage its
flagship Asian products and formulate the investment strategy for the region.
Mr. Chung joined Barings in 1994 as an analyst covering Australia and New
Zealand, and then Thailand in 1995. He was promoted to Investment Manager in
1996, covering Singapore, Malaysia, ASEAN and then Hong Kong/China. In 1999, he
joined Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce to manage its retail and institutional
funds. Before rejoining Barings, he held the role of Executive Director and Head
of Asian Equities at CIBC, where he was responsible for the stock selection and
asset allocation in Asia Pacific including Japan. He received his Bachelor of
Science (Economics) degree from the University of London in 1991 and MBA degree
from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South
Wales in 1993. He was awarded the CFA designation in 1998. Franki speaks
