STEVEN B. DODGE is the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and significant
individual shareholder of American Tower Corporation, the largest
independent owner and operator of communications towers in the U.S.
Since its organization in 1995, American has grown to a company
operating more than 1,800 towers in 44 states. Based in Boston, the
company has a national footprint with regional hubs in Boston, Atlanta,
Chicago, Houston, and San Francisco and soon Chicago. Initially a
subsidiary of American Radio Systems Corporation, of which Mr. Dodge is
also the founder and CEO, American Tower was spun out to American Radio
shareholders at the time of American Radio's merger into CBS in June of
1998. At that time, American Tower Corporation began trading publicly
and is listed on the NYSE. Prior to his involvement with American Radio,
he was the founder and CEO of American Cablesystems Corporation, a
publicly traded cable television company, which was merged into
Continental Cable in 1988 (now Media One). Mr. Dodge is a Director of
PageMart Wireless Inc. and also serves on the Boards of Sensitech, Inc.
and Jobson Publishing. He also serves as a Trustee of the Dana Farber

TWST: Could you please give us a brief overview of American Tower ' yourhistory, your services, customers, those kinds of things?
Mr. Dodge: The company was actually formed initially as a
