STEPHEN R. THEROUX is Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer,
Chief Financial Officer, and a Director of Lake Sunapee Bank, as well
as, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Hampshire Thrift
Bancshares, Inc., whose sole subsidiary is Lake Sunapee Bank. Prior to
joining Lake Sunapee Bank in 1987, Mr. Theroux had spent his entire
professional career in the banking and financial management field. He
served as Director of Charter Trust Company, a financial management
company, from 1984 to 2001, and as its Chairman from 1995 to 2001. Mr.
Theroux is active in community affairs and is the Treasurer of the Town
of New London, New Hampshire. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Bowdoin
College, a Master's in Business Administration from the University of
Southern New Hampshire, and is a graduate of the Maine-New Hampshire
