Scott L. Mercy – Lifepoint Hospitals Inc (lpnt)

SCOTT L. MERCY is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. Mr. Mercy joined LifePoint Hospitals, in September 1998, prior to its spin-off from Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation. From 1996-1998, Mr. Mercy served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Nashville-based America Service Group, a $120-million provider of healthcare services to correctional facilities. He began his healthcare career in 1983, joining Hospital Corporation of America in the investor relations department. A long-term member of the HCA management team prior to its merger with Columbia Healthcare, Mr. Mercy previously served as Senior Vice President of Financial Operations for Columbia/HCA. In that role, he was responsible for the financial oversight of 100 hospitals and related healthcare operations, generating approximately $6 billion in annual revenue.
