SCOTT HAMMACK, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CyberGuard
Corporation, joined the company in January 2001. Mr. Hammack
combines a background in engineering and computers with executive
management expertise. He started a small consulting company
called MasterChart in the basement of his Illinois home in 1992.
MasterChart developed an electronic medical record product,
attracted capital, added other software application products and,
in May 2000, was sold to Allscripts, Inc., for $125 million.
Under Mr. Hammack's direction, MasterChart developed an
innovative PDA technology enabling physicians to record medical
information at the patient bedside, saving time and improving
patient care. Before founding MasterChart, Mr. Hammack worked as
a Senior Engineer at Baxter Healthcare in Round Lake, Illinois,
where he developed software for the first handheld computer
called Linus. Mr. Hammack earned a Bachelor of Science degree in
Biomedical Engineering with a minor in computer applications from
Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Since his arrival
at CyberGuard, revenues have increased worldwide and the publicly
traded company has posted six consecutive quarters of
profitability. Growth in US federal government business has
prompted expansion and the addition of a new DC-metro area
office, training facility and network lab. CyberGuard's worldwide
government business has continued its fast pace as well. Profile
