GINNY MORRIS is the President of Hubbard Radio, a division of
Hubbard Broadcasting, a third generation broadcasting family that
operates out of the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
While still in college in 1982, she began working in the
promotion department of their flagship TV station, KSTP-TV. She
started with special projects and promotional events and
eventually became the promotion director of that department in
1985. Having experienced the daily life of a television station,
in January 1989, she moved into the 'corporate job' of VP of
Corporate Affairs and Public Relations for Hubbard Broadcasting.
In July 1990, she was asked to take on the challenge of managing
KSTP-AM, the original holding of the Hubbard family's
broadcasting business (originally licensed as WAMD in 1923). In
that role, Ms. Morris developed her true passion for and interest
in the radio business. In May 1995, she added KSTP-FM (KS95) to
her duties, becoming President and General Manager of both KSTP
radio properties. Having had success with developing local talent
for KSTP-AM, the company began syndicating its talent on a
regional basis and formed a new company, the Hubbard Radio
Network, in August 1999. Ms. Morris serves as President of this
company as well. The Hubbard Radio Network now has 40 affiliates
in four states and continues to add stations. Ms. Morris was
elected to her first term on the NAB Radio Board of Directors in
1999 and re-elected to a second term in 2001. She served as Vice
Chairman of the Radio Board on the NAB's Executive Committee
during the 2001-2002 term, and was recently voted the Chair for
the 2002-2003 term. In 2000, she was named President of Hubbard
Radio, delegating much of the day-to-day operations to others in
the growing organization. Profile
