RUSS GRANDINETTI became Treasurer of Amazon.com in May 2000. Before
becoming Treasurer, he had headed up Amazon.com Investor Relations from
the time he joined the company in January 1998. Prior to joining
Amazon.com, Russ served as a Securities Analyst for Morgan Stanley Dean
Witter in New York City, where he helped cover a number of companies
emerging in the Internet sector, including America Online, Netscape,
@Home and Amazon.com. Before joining Morgan Stanley, he worked as a
Systems Designer and Engineer at Andersen Consulting in New York City.
He is a graduate of Princeton University and holds a BSE in Operations

was initially a company that sold only books from a
