Ronnie Wilson – Macro 4 Plc (mao.l)

RONNIE WILSON is Chief Executive Officer of Macro 4 Plc. Ronnie graduated in 1975 with an MA in Economics from Glasgow University. He joined the sales department of Burroughs Machines (now part of Unisys) in 1975 and, following a move to London in 1979, became the company's youngest middle-tier manager when he took over the financial marketing department aged 25. In 1984, Ronnie left the comfort of the corporate environment to start up his own small software house, which, by his own admission, 'was a truly enlightening experience'. In 1990, he returned to the fold with Unisys and spent three years in Germany (he now speaks fluent German and French). Four years later, Ronnie became the company's youngest Vice President when he ran the Central & Eastern Europe operation - an interesting time that saw him immersed in the emerging political economies of Russia, Poland, The Czech Republic, Hungary and the Ukraine. 1996 saw Ronnie join Sequent Computer Inc. as Vice President and General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, before being headhunted for the position of Chief Executive at Macro 4.
