Ron Kaplan – Federal Realty Investment Trust (frt)

RON D. KAPLAN is Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Federal Realty Investment Trust. In this capacity he is responsible for the trust's investment policies, strategic planning, capital raising and capital market transactions in addition to the maintenance of its relationships with institutional shareholders, lending institutions and the financial community. From its inception in 1994, Mr. Kaplan was charged with managing Street Retail, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Federal Realty specializing in the acquisition and development of Main Street retail properties. Prior to joining Federal Realty, Mr. Kaplan worked as an independent real estate advisor in conjunction with the merger and acquisition of a publicly listed real estate company. Previously, Mr. Kaplan was a Vice President of Salomon Brothers' real estate department in Los Angeles, where he structured debt and equity transactions for residential, retail, office, industrial and hotel property portfolios. Prior to 1987, Mr. Kaplan was based in Salomon Brothers' New York office where he specialized in capital markets transactions for public real estate companies. Mr. Kaplan graduated with honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
