ROGER C. OCHS is President of H.D. Vest, Inc., a non-bank
subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Company. H.D. Vest supports a network
of 6,000 independent tax professionals, mostly CPAs and Enrolled
Agents, who offer financial planning solutions to their clients.
These professionals manage over $15 billion in assets for
individuals, families and small businesses in all 50 states. As
President, Mr. Ochs is responsible for both the day-to-day
operations and the future direction of the company, which has
approximately 330 employees in Irving, Texas. Mr. Ochs joined
H.D. Vest in 1987. Before being named the President of H.D. Vest,
Inc., in 1999, he held multiple responsibilities within the
organization, overseeing sales, marketing and technical support
for Advisors. Prior to that, he worked with Prudential-Bache
Securities as a financial planner. Mr. Ochs earned a Juris Doctor
degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law, a Master
of Business Administration degree from Trinity University and a
Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Angelo State
University. He is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas
and holds many NASD licenses and several designations, including
a CFP' certificate, CLU and ChFC. Recently named by Accounting
Today for the second year in a row as one of the top names to
know in financial planning, Mr. Ochs also serves on the
Independent Firms Committee of the Securities Industry
Association and is a member of the Texas Bar Association, Dallas
Association of Young Lawyers, Dallas Estate Planning Council and
the Financial Planning Association and is an associate member of
