RODERICK DAVID KENT, age 52, is the Chief Executive of Close Brothers
Plc. He graduated with a humanities degree from Corpus Christi College
in Oxford. He started his career working for Schroders Investment
Management Division. In 1972, he was awarded an MBA from INSEAD. Soon
after, he joined Close Brothers, and in 1979 undertook an MBO of Close
Brothers, which became public in 1984. Mr. Kent is Chairman of M&G and
from 1988-1998, was non-executive director of Wessex Water. He is
married and has three daughters. He interests include dairy farming,
antique furniture restoration, eighteenth century silver, and he is
Liveryman of Worshipful Company of Pewterers. Profile
