Robert Soran – Uniroyal Technology Corporation (utci)

ROBERT SORAN is President and Chief Operating Officer of Uniroyal Technology Corporation. Mr. Soran is also a director of UTC and also serves on the Executive Committee. Uniroyal, a public company which trades on NASDAQ under UTCI, has 12 facilities in the United States with 1,300 employees. Uniroyal produces specialty plastics, chemical and polymer products such as Polycast bullet resistant acrylic, aircraft transparencies, intra ocular lens and medical products, Royalite Thermoplastic sheet for computer housings, aircraft interiors, Naugahyde coated fabrics and Uniroyal Adhesives and Sealants. Uniroyal just recently entered into a joint venture, Uniroyal Optoelectronics, to manufacture and sell high brightness light emitting diodes (LEDs) in blue, green, red, orange and yellow colors. Before joining Uniroyal, Mr. Soran was President and CEO of Tropicana Products. He was employed since 1973 by Tropicana's owner, Beatrice Foods when Beatrice acquired his business in California. He worked in various assignments for Beatrice, including mergers and acquisitions and managing Swift & Company in Europe prior to joining Tropicana. He and his team grew Tropicana to a $1.4 billion company before he left and joined Uniroyal. Mr. Soran chaired the Substance Abuse Committee of Governor Martinez's Workforce 2000 and has been instrumental in developing a national Drug Free Workplace Advisory Council. He has served on the Manatee/Sarasota Council for Public Education and the Board of Directors of the Asolo Performing Arts Council. He has been a member of the Florida Council of 100 for 10 years. He is married. He enjoys golf fishing and building automobiles. Profile
