Robert Lynch – Clearcommerce Corporation

ROBERT J. LYNCH is President and Chief Executive Officer of ClearCommerce Corporation. Mr. Lynch is serious about helping companies make money on the Web. A no-nonsense, no-hype approach to Internet financial transaction processing is changing the way customers view the potential of the Internet as a seamless channel for sales and service. Mr. Lynch never loses sight of his company's role to solve tough business problems in a crusade to make the Web channel profitable ' explaining that the biggest hurdles to Internet revenue are threat of fraud and the back-end integration with existing business processes. Solving these problems, says Mr. Lynch, will make ClearCommerce very successful. He began his career in electronic financial services with ADP in 1980. In 1984 Mr. Lynch joined MTech, rising to SVP/GM of the Retail Banking/Merchant Systems business unit. Mr. Lynch was recruited in 1991 to serve as President of ACS/Transfirst. In two years he turned the startup toward profitability before he was asked to do the same for a $40 million acquisition. ACS had a successful IPO in 1994. Recruited by NetSolve that same year, he helped redefine their sales focus as VP Sales. NetSolve achieved profitability and had a successful 1999 IPO. Since becoming CEO of ClearCommerce in 1997, he has raised $55 million in financing, hired a veteran management team and has grown the merchant base from 250 to over 50,000. Profile
