ROBERT DUFRESNE joined ConjuChem, Inc., in December 1997 as
President and Chief Executive Officer. He has 20 years of
experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical
device industries. His background includes functional
responsibilities in the areas of marketing, finance, business
development and general management. Mr. DuFresne had previously
held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at
Cibus Pharmaceutical, a San Francisco area based drug delivery
company. Prior to that time, he had served as President and Chief
Operating Officer at Anika Therapeutics and as Senior Vice
President of Business Development at Alpha Beta Technology. Mr.
DuFresne's pharmaceutical industry experience includes five years
spent as Managing Director for the Toronto-based, Canadian
subsidiary of Boots Pharmaceutical. Prior to joining Boots, he
worked for eight years for Baxter International in various
functional and general management responsibilities, including
both domestic and international assignments. Mr. DuFresne serves
as a member of the Board for Antigen Express and Polycarbon
Industries Inc. as well as a member of the Advisory Committee of
T2C2, a venture capital firm. He holds an MBA degree from the

Mr. DuFresne: The company began in mid-1997. It actually was one
of those
