ROBERT K. BURGESS was named Chairman of the Board of Pulte Corporation
and Chief Executive Officer in December 1998. He had been President and
Chief Executive Officer since January 1993. Prior to January 1993, Mr.
Burgess had been President and Chief Operating Officer, as well as a
member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Burgess joined Pulte in 1983 as
Vice President of Corporate Development and was later named Executive
Vice President and President of the company's Investment Builder
Division. Since 1990, Mr. Burgess has directed Pulte's dramatic
expansion from 20 markets and less than $800 million in revenues to 40
markets, three countries and $3.8 billion in revenues today. Prior to
joining Pulte, Mr. Burgess was a Management Consultant with Plante &
Moran and Touche Ross & Company. He began his career with General
Electric. Mr. Burgess holds a Bachelor's degree from Michigan State
