Robert B. Stein Jr. – Dairy Mart Convenience Stores (dmc)

ROBERT B. STEIN, JR., is Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer of Dairy Mart Convenience Stores. He was elected by the Board of Directors of Dairy Mart Convenience Stores, Inc., President in September 1994, as Chief Executive Officer in June 1995 and as Chairman of the Board of Directors in December 1995. He previously held the post of Executive Vice President of Store Operations and Marketing. Prior to heading company-wide store operations, Mr. Stein served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the company's Midwest Region since July 1989. While overseeing the Midwest, Dairy Mart's largest division with more than 700 stores, he and his team were responsible for turning around the operation. Mr. Stein joined Dairy Mart in 1983 as Assistant Treasurer of the company and Treasurer of the Northeast Region. He became Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Midwest Region, in 1986 and served until his appointment to Midwest General Manager in July of the same year. In June 1992, Mr. Stein was elected to the company's Board of Directors. He graduated from Western New England College, with a degree in accounting. Prior to joining Dairy Mart, he was with the public accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Stein is a member of the Young President's Organization of Cleveland and on the Board of Director for LESCO, Inc. He has served on the Boards of Directors of the Ohio Association of Convenience Stores, the Ohio Retail Merchants Association and the American Soap Box Derby.
