Richard Jackson – Emergen Inc

RICHARD L. JACKSON is President and Chief Executive Officer of EmerGen, Inc. He joined the company in March 2001. Prior to becoming an executive at EmerGen, Dr. Jackson held senior research and development positions at Wyeth, Atrix Laboratories and Marion Merrel Dow. Dr. Jackson served as Senior Vice President of Discovery Research at Wyeth and was instrumental in establishing the company's Women's Health Institute. Under his stewardship, more than 40 compounds moved into development, seven of which are currently in clinical trials or have received FDA approval. During his tenure at Atrix Laboratories as Senior Vice President, Research and Development, Dr. Jackson helped raise $90 million for the company and submitted five products to the FDA, one of which was recently approved. Dr. Jackson received his PhD in Microbiology at the University of Illinois. He has had academic appointments at the National Institutes of Health, Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Profile

Dr. Jackson: EmerGen, a start-up company founded in April
