RICHARD E. TARRANT is Chief Executive Officer of IDX Systems
Corporation, a publicly traded company supplying information systems to
healthcare organizations. He has served in this capacity for 30 years
and is the most senior CEO in the Healthcare Information Systems
industry. His experience in the industry spans the early years of
Medicare, through the managed care era as well as the more recent
provider consolidation movement. He currently serves as Chairman of the
Board and interim Chief Executive Officer of ChannelHealth, a healthcare
Internet company and subsidiary of IDX, whose mission is to extend and
enhance the physician/patient interaction by utilizing the Internet. Mr.
Tarrant is also a Director of Fletcher Allen Health Care, an Integrated
Delivery Network affiliated with the University of Vermont College of
