DR RICHARD DIXEY is the Chief Executive of Phytopharm Plc. He has a B.A
(Hons) in physiological sciences (Oxford, 1973), a Ph.D. in biophysics
(London, 1984) and an M.Sc. in history and philosophy of science
(London, 1988). He became a non-executive director of Phytotech in
1990, was appointed vice-chairman in 1992 and became chief executive of
Phytotech in 1994. He is a former director of the Bioelectronic
Research Unit which he founded at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London in
1979. In 1989, he co-founded Chakra Limited, of which he remains a
