RAYMOND ROYER is President and Chief Executive Officer of Domtar Inc.
His academic achievements include a Master's of Commerce (1963), a
Bachelor's of Civil Law (1966) and a Master's of Accountancy (1966) from
the Universit de Sherbrooke. After beginning his career as a financial
analyst and corporate manager, Mr. Royer joined Bombardier in 1974 to
set up the Mass Transit Division, which he managed until 1986. He was
then appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Bombardier, a
position he held until May 15, 1996. He has been President and Chief
Executive Officer of Domtar Inc. since September 3, 1996. Mr. Royer is a
member of the Boards of Directors of Domtar, Power Financial
Corporation, Ballard Power Systems Inc. and Shell Canada Limited. He is
also presently Vice President of the Board of Directors of the
Conference Board of Canada. Mr. Royer is a member of the Qubec Order of
Chartered Accountants, the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants,
the Qubec Bar and The Canadian Bar Association, as well as a Fellow of
the Qubec Order of Chartered Accountants. He is also a Governor of the
Faculty of Business Administration of the Universit de Sherbrooke,
Emeritus Governor of the Foundation of the Centre Hospitalier de
l'Universit de Sherbrooke and a member of the International Advisory
Board of McGill University's Faculty of Management. Mr. Royer is an
Officer of the Order of Canada and a Commander of the Order of Lopold
II of Belgium. He also holds honorary doctorates from the Universit de
Sherbrooke and from the Universit de Montral (cole Polytechnique). Profile
