R. E. Turner – Compu-dawn Inc (etvc)

R. E. 'TEDDY' TURNER, son of media mogul Ted Turner, joined Compu-DAWN in January 1999. His corporate experience, coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit, helped to ensure that Compu-DAWN quickly became a leader in the direct marketing of Internet-based products for consumers. Prior to joining Compu-DAWN , Turner served as Southeast Regional Sales Manager for Turner Entertainment Group's profitable home video division. During his four-year tenure there, the division increased sales thirteen-fold up to $400 million in 1996. That year, when the division increased sales thirteen-fold up to $400 million in 1996. Turner had become a true entrepreneur in 1989 when he kicked off Challenge America, a sailing and sports marketing company. His charter was to raise sponsorship dollars and secure the placement of an American team in the Whitbread Around-the- World race. He won the prestigious Miami Montego Bay Race and set records in the Daytona to Bermuda Race. Previously, Turner had served for two years as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Country Music Television until the network was sold to the Nashville Network in 1989. Early in his career, Turner performed a variety of roles for the Turner company including cameraman and editor covering Chernobyl, hostilities in the Soviet Union, Afghanistan and the Good Will Games, as well as special project manager for Soviet projects. Turner is currently a member of the Board of Directors for The Turner Foundation, The Jane S. Turner Foundation, St. Mary's College, the Georgia Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the Guana Area Intercostal Network and All Season Vehicles, Inc. He holds a BS in Business Administration from The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina. Profile
