Paul Thomas – Green Mountain Energy Company

PAUL D. THOMAS is President and Chief Executive Officer of Green Mountain Energy Company. He joined Green Mountain Energy Company in May 2000. Previously he served as Green Mountain Energy Company's President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Thomas came to the Green Mountain Energy Company after leading the investment team at BP that evaluated BP's investment in GMEC. He served as President of North American Gas and Power for BP and held the similar position of President of Amoco Energy Trading prior to the BP/Amoco merger. Prior to his tenure at BP and Amoco, he worked as a Chemical Engineer with UOP, a company that develops and licenses refining technology, and with Energy Cooperative Inc., a small refining company. Mr. Thomas graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan in 1977 with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering. He also earned a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Chicago in 1989, and a Juris Doctor degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1982. Profile
