PAUL E. RUBELI became Chairman of the Board of Aztar Corporation in
February 1992, adding the chairmanship to his responsibilities as
president and Chief Executive Officer of Aztar and a Director of the
company. He became President when Aztar was formed in the restructuring
of Ramada Inc. in December 1989 and was appointed Chief Executive
Officer in February 1990. Mr. Rubeli joined Ramada in May 1979 as group
vice president of industrial operations; in July 1980 his
responsibilities were expanded to include Ramada's casino gaming
operations. He was appointed executive vice president for gaming in May
1982 and was elected to the Ramada board of directors in 1985.
Previously, Mr. Rubeli was group vice president of Baker Industries,
Inc., in Beverly Hills, California, and served as vice president of the
information systems division of Bunker Ramo Corporation in Trumbull,
Connecticut, and as a management consultant at A. T. Kearney, Inc. in
New York. He holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Notre Dame
and an MBA from Columbia University. Profile
