Paul Corley – Border Television Plc

PAUL CORLEY is Chief Executive of Border Television since February 1998 from the ITV Network Centre. He is a fellow of the Royal Television Society and former Managing Director of Carlton Broadcasting. As ITV's Controller of Factual Programmes, he commissioned 45% of network hours including news, current affairs, arts, documentaries and factual entertainment with an annual budget of 80m. These included many of ITV's best known strands World In Action, Network First, Survival, The South Bank Show, This Morning, Vanessa and Wish You Were Here, together with new popular formats like Police Camera Action, Neighbours From Hell, Hollywood Woman, Blues and Twos and Airline. He was responsible for ITV's extensive coverage of the General Election and coverage of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. He began his career with BBC Television, joining Tyne Tees TV to produce the Tube for Channel 4. He was Director of Programmes for Border Television in the eighties and joined Carlton Television before its launch in 1993, becoming Managing Director of Carlton Broadcasting with responsibility for the London weekday ITV franchise the largest in ITV.
