Nick Basing – Paramount Plc (london: Pmn.l)

Nick Basing Nick Basing (41) joined Paramount as Group Chief Executive in April 2003. Nick spent over 15 years developing and growing multi-site businesses in leisure and hospitality. He previously held senior positions in Granada plc, Good Wood Ltd., First Leisure Corporation plc and The Rank Group plc. During this time, he was responsible for many new site openings and successful turn-arounds of leisure sites bars, cinemas, and restaurants, including Hard Rock cafes and Universal Studios theme parks - in the UK and US. In 2000, Nick joined the European board of a major division of Unilever plc and was responsible for innovation and new business. Since January 2002 he has led Management Buy-In teams seeking to acquire leisure related business and acted as a strategic adviser to restaurant businesses. During the six months leading up to his appointment as CEO of Paramount, Nick headed the due diligence team for Paramount, which led, on 13 March 2003, to Paramount announcing a Share Offer with a Cash Alternative.
