NABEEL GAREEB was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and a
member of the Board of Directors of MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc., in
April 2002. Under his leadership, MEMC is successfully implementing a
business strategy to reclaim an industry leadership position, with a
balance of profits, market share and technology. Prior to joining MEMC,
Mr. Gareeb worked for 10 years at International Rectifier Corporation, a
leading supplier of power semiconductors, where he was most recently
Chief Operating Officer. In this position, he was responsible for
worldwide operations, research and development, and marketing of the
core products of the company as well as administrative functions, which
included human resources and information technology. Prior to
International Rectifier Corporation, Mr. Gareeb spent 10 years in
various positions with expertise in diverse areas, including operations,
technology, and market research. Mr. Gareeb holds a Master of Science
degree in engineering management, a Bachelor of Science degree in
electrical and electronics engineering, and a Bachelor of Science degree
