Michael R. Stanford, President and Chief Executive Officer of First State
Bancorporation, has been a director of the company since its inception in 1988.
Mr. Stanford also serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of First
Community Bank, a position he's held since 1992. Having spent his entire career
in the banking industry, Mr. Stanford spent five years with New Mexico Banquest
Corporation as Senior Vice President in charge of loan administration prior to
joining First Community Bank in 1987. In addition to his other duties, Mr.
Stanford is a member of the Executive Committee. He is also a past chairman of
the United Way of Central New Mexico and is involved in a variety of leadership
positions in civic organizations and associations. Profile
