MICHAEL W. PIPPINS, Senior Vice President of Brooks Automation, Inc.,
started his career with Leybold Heraeus 16 years ago. In 1987 he joined
a semiconductor capital equipment start-up, ASM Ion Implant, as Director
of Marketing until 1989 when the company was sold to Varian Associates.
For the next three years he was Strategic Marketing Manager for Varian,
focusing on the Japanese and Korean markets. Mr. Pippins joined Brooks
Automation in March 1992 when annual revenue run rates were
approximately $6 million per year. He served as Vice President of Sales
and Marketing until 1998, when he assumed the role of Vice President of
Global Operations and Business Development and became President of
Brooks Automation Japan K.K. Mr. Pippins is also Director of Brooks
Automation Asia, a joint venture between Brooks and Samsung Electronics. Profile
