Michael Magee – Independent Bank Corporation (ibcp)

MICHAEL M. MAGEE is president and chief executive officer of Independent Bank Corporation. Until his promotion in February 2004, Mr. Magee served as president and CEO of Independent Bank, one of four subsidiaries operated by Independent Bank Corporation. Mr. Magee began his career with Independent Bank in 1987 as vice president of retail banking. In 1993, he was promoted to president and CEO of Independent Bank Corporation's lead bank, Independent Bank. Over the next 10 years, the subsidiary's assets grew from $140 million to $1.2 billion and earnings grew from $2.4 million to just over $19.6 million. The number of banking offices grew from eight to 35. Mr. Magee attended Northwood University and earned degrees from the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking and the University of Arkansas Bank Executive Development School. Prior to joining Independent Bank, Mr. Magee worked for Commercial Bank in Greenville and Ludington Bank and Trust. Profile
