Michael J. Setola – Salant Corporation (slnt)

MICHAEL J. SETOLA was appointed Chairman and CEO of Salant Corporation in December 1998. Prior to that Mr. Setola served as President and CEO of Salant's highly profitable Perry Ellis Menswear division and held that role until 1993. Mr. Setola was promoted to Perry Ellis from the Salant Children's Apparel Group where he spent two years directing a significant operational turnaround as President. Before joining Salant, Mr. Setola's background was in the Children's Apparel sector, serving in Senior Marketing and merchandising roles with the Ocean Pacific and Health-tex brands. He is a 1980 graduate of Upsala College where he double-majored in Marketing and Economics. He is very active in community and industry programs and currently serves as Co-Chairman of the NCCJ (National Council for Community and Justice), is on the Executive Committee of the TFA (The Fashion Association) and is on the Board of Governors of the YMA (Young Menswear Association). On numerous occasions, Mr. Setola has served as Chairman of the NY Council of Boy Scouts for the Men and Boyswear fundraiser. Mr. Setola is married and has two children. Profile
