MICHAEL HIGGINS is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Para-
Protect Services, Inc. He has made Para-Protect one of the fastest
growing managed security service providers in today's market. Prior to
forming Para-Protect, Mr. Higgins was an Assistant Vice President and
Senior Technical Manager at Science Applications International
Corporation. Mr. Higgins was the Deputy Director for the Center for
Information Systems Security for the Defense Information Systems Agency.
In this capacity, Mr. Higgins was the Department of Defense's Senior
Technical Manager of the Center's Information Security Countermeasures
Department. While in DoD, he created the Automated Systems Security
Incident Support Team (ASSIST), the most effective computer emergency
response team in the US government. Mr. Higgins was also the developer
of the Vulnerability Analysis and Assistance Program (VAAP), which
proactively analyzed information systems for security vulnerabilities.
Mr. Higgins received a Master's degree in Systems Management from the
University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science degree in
Criminal Justice from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Profile
