Michael Groeller – Mayr-melnhof Karton Ag

MICHAEL GROELLER is the Chief Executive Officer of Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG. In 1965, Michael Groeller graduated in world business economics from the Business University of Vienna. He started his career with a one year on-the-job training as Executive Trainee at J. L. Hudson in Detroit, Michigan, United States. In 1966, Michael Groeller joined Mayr-Melnhof where he spent his entire career progressing through all management functions like sales department, mill manager and many others. In 1976, he became Managing Director and in 1989, he was appointed to CEO of Mayr-Melnhof Holding Co responsible for both divisions board production and wastepaper. In 1994, the company Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG, where Michael Groeller remained as CEO, was listed on the Vienna stock exchange, the SEAQ in London as well as with an ADR program in the United States.
