Michael Cannon – Maxtor Corporation (mxtr)

MICHAEL CANNON is President and Chief Executive Officer of Maxtor Corporation. Mr. Cannon has 20 years of data storage industry experience in key leadership positions. He joined Maxtor in July 1996 from IBM, where he held several senior management positions in the Storage Systems Division, including Vice President, Mobile and Desktop Disk Drive Business Unit; Vice President, Product Design; and Vice President, Worldwide Operations. Prior to IBM, Mr. Cannon spent the majority of his storage industry career at Control Data Corporation's Imprimis Technology in a variety of senior management positions in both the technology components and disk drive operations areas. Mr. Cannon started his career at The Boeing Company where he worked as a Research Engineer. Under Mr. Cannon's leadership, Maxtor has seen a dramatic improvement in growth and profitability during the most difficult period the industry has seen in the last 10 years.
