MICHAEL A. BAKER joined ArthroCare Corporation in July 1997 as President
and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining ArthroCare, Mr. Baker held
a variety of positions at Medtronic, Inc., including Vice President and
General Manager of the company's Coronary Vascular business unit, Vice
President of the Venture Division, Director of Corporate Development,
and Director of Strategic Planning. Mr. Baker holds an undergraduate
degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA
