MICHAEL B. RICHINGS was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer
of Granges Inc. in June 1995, the predecessor company to Vista Gold;
previously, he was President of Atlas Corporation which at the time was
Granges' largest shareholder; and before that, President of Lac Minerals
Ltd. South America based in Chile. At Lac, in addition to responsibility
for the El Indio and El Toqui operations, he oversaw the development and
construction of the 140,000 ounces per year El Tambo mine and the
addition of 4.0 million ounces of reserves and resources, including the
first positive feasibility study on the Pascua project and reserve
estimate of 2 million ounces. Mr. Richings is a mining engineer with a
Bachelor of Science degree from Camborne School of Mines and a Master of
Science degree from Queens University. He has over 30 years of mine
operating and development experience with an extensive gold and
