Mchenry T. Tichenor Jr. – Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation (hbcca)

MCHENRY T. TICHENOR, JR. became Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation (formerly Heftel Broadcasting Corporation) upon the merger of Heftel and Tichenor Media System, Inc., on February 14, 1997. Mr. Tichenor began his career in Spanish radio in 1979 when he joined Tichenor Media, being named President of that company in 1981. Mr. Tichenor attended the University of Texas at Austin where he received a BA with honors in 1977, and an MBA, together with the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence, in 1979. The University of Texas Graduate Business Council recognized him as a distinguished Alumnus in 1987. Mr. Tichenor's business and professional activities include serving on the University of Texas Leadership Council, Development Board, and College of Business Administration Advisory Council; he is a Director of the Radio Advertising Bureau, the Texas Association of Broadcasters, and is an Emeritus Director and past Chairman of the Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation.
