MARTIN A. KITS VAN HEYNINGEN has been President and a Director of KVH
Industries, Inc. since he co-founded the company in 1982, and he has
served as the Chief Executive Officer since 1990. Under his leadership,
KVH has grown to include 185 employees, a 75,000-square-foot
headquarters and manufacturing facility in Rhode Island, and offices in
Denmark, Illinois and Florida. Initially, KVH was recognized for its
unique, cutting-edge marine navigation systems. In recent years, Mr.
Kits van Heyningen has directed the company's consistent expansion of
its product lines with a focus on mobile communications systems, fiber-
optic products and tactical navigation systems. Mr. Kits van Heyningen
took KVH public in 1996, and in 1997 acquired a proprietary fiber-optic
technology and an experienced technical staff that have been
instrumental in positioning the company for long-term growth in all of
the company's large and rapidly expanding target markets. Previously Mr.
Kits van Heyningen was a Marketing Consultant at the New England
Consulting Group. He received a BA Cum Laude from Yale University. Profile
