MARK POWELL joined Laurence Keen in 1989 as Chief Executive and when
Laurence Keen became part of Rathbones he was appointed Managing
Director of the Rathbone Group. Mr. Powell Started his investment career
in 1968 and became a partner in Powell Popham Dawes & Co. in 1972. The
firm was subsequently taken over by Laing & Cruickshank and he was
appointed head of Private Clients. When Laing & Cruickshank was
acquired, initially by Mercantile House and then by Credit Lyonnais, Mr.
Powell first became Chief Executive of the Investment Management
Division and subsequently of the Group. Mr. Powell is a member of the
Takeover Panel, Treasurer of the Iris Fund for the Prevention of
Blindness and Chairman of the Association of Private Client Investment
Managers (APCIMS). Profile
