Marcus Jackson – Semco Energy Inc (sen)

MARCUS JACKSON is President and Chief Executive Officer of SEMCO Energy, Inc. It has three subsidiaries. NATCOMM Engineering operates businesses involved in pipeline engineering and quality assurance services and construction services in various regions of the United States. SEMCO Energy Ventures operates propane distribution, intrastate pipelines and natural gas storage companies. Aretech Information Services provides information technology and outsourcing services for the mid-range computer market. Prior to joining SEMCO Energy in June 2001, Mr. Jackson was Executive Vice President of Kansas City Power & Light Company and President of Great Plains Power. His extensive management background with the Midwestern energy company also includes having served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Kansas City Power & Light Company, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President of Power Supply and Vice President of Power Production. From July 1980 to August 1983, Mr. Jackson was a Project Engineer on one the first steam-generated power plants in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia while working for a subsidiary of Gibbs and Hill Engineering. Mr. Jackson was elected to the SEMCO Energy, Inc. Board of Directors in 1999. He also is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Southern Illinois and a Master's of Business Administration from Rockhurst University. Profile
