DEBORAH A. MARTIN is a Principal in the Health Care & Group Benefits
Practice in Mercer's New York office. She is a national leader for
Mercer's Managed Pharmacy Consulting Group. Ms. Martin consults with
employers, state governments, and managed care organizations in the
selection and evaluation of health benefits, in general, and
prescription drug benefits, in particular. Ms. Martin consults with
employers on cost containment, plan design, and vendor performance
management issues. Her recent experience includes assignments for
numerous Fortune 200 corporate plan sponsors; several employer
coalitions; public employers including several State programs; managed
care providers including several BlueCross BlueShield organizations. Ms.
Martin also consults with health plans, pharmaceutical companies,
pharmaceutical benefit management companies (PBMs) and health care
foundations. Recent projects include strategic competitive assessment
and benchmarking projects. Prior to joining Mercer in 1996, she spent
seven years at Pfizer with positions in managed care, strategic planning
and international marketing. Ms. Martin earned a BS in Economics at The
Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Marketing and
Statistics from The Stern School, New York University. She is a
