M.moran/a.amlani – Mds Proteomics

MIchael MORAN, PhD, has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of MDS Proteomics since March 2001. His responsibilities include the integration of advanced proteomics, drug discovery and supercomputing efforts toward the discovery and validation of new drug targets and therapeutic compounds. From September 2000 to February 2001, Dr. Moran was Vice President Research. From July 1999 to August 2000, Dr. Moran was the founding Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer for MDS Ocata, a privately held biotechnology company, where he was responsible for leading proteomic research efforts to advance the company in its goal to identify and characterize protein- protein interactions as a source of novel drug targets. Concurrently, he was a visiting professor at the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital and a tenured associate professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, lecturing on molecular and medical genetics. Dr. Moran earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and a PhD from the National Cancer Institute's Laboratory at the University of Western Ontario. He completed his Fellowship training at Mount Sinai Hospital between 1986 and 1990. Dr. Moran was a Fellow at the National Cancer Institute of Canada from 1986 to 1990, an Assistant Professor in the Banting and Best Department of Medical Research from 1990 to 1995. Between 1995 and 2000, Dr. Moran was an Associate Professor with tenure at the Banting and Best Department of Medical Research and Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics at the University of Toronto. Dr. Moran has held career Scientist awards from both the National Cancer Institute and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Dr. Moran has presented and lectured at over 50 international conferences, college and hospital engagements, and published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed science and medical journals. He has consulted and collaborated extensively with various biotech and pharmaceutical companies, and served as member, chair and scientific officer for various national medical research granting agency study sections. ANIL AMLANI, CA has served as Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of MDS Proteomics since 2001. From 2000 to 2001, Mr. Amlani was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Cancom (now owned by Shaw), responsible for Finance, Treasury, Investor Relations, Human Resources and Administration. From 1999 to 2000, Mr. Amlani was the Head of Finance at TD Bank for the Personal and Commercial sector. He also spent 18 years at AT&T Canada where he held a number of increasingly senior posts in strategy, finance, business development, carrier relations, international traffic and business planning. Mr. Amlani is a Chartered Accountant in Canada as well as in Britain, where he spent seven years with two prominent companies in London. Mr. Amlani: The company
