Lloyd L. Hill – Applebee’s International Inc (appb)

LLOYD L. HILL is Chairman of the Board, CEO, and President of Applebee's International, Inc., based in Overland Park, Kansas. Applebee's develops, franchises, and operates more than 1,300 casual dining restaurants under the trademark of Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Mr. Hill joined Applebee's International, Inc., as Chief Operating Officer in January 1994, and was named President the following year. He became co-Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 1997, Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 1998, and was elected Chairman of the Board in May 2000. He served as an independent member of the Board of Directors for Applebee's International, Inc., from 1988 until he joined the company, and remained a Board member after joining the company as COO. Prior to Applebee's, he served as President of Olsten Kimberly Quality Care, operating from the company headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Hill has served as a member of the Kimberly Board of Directors since 1988. Mr. Hill joined Kimberly Services, Inc., in 1980 as an Operations Regional Vice President. In 1982 he was promoted to Vice President of Marketing and New Business Development. In 1983 he was named Senior Vice President for the Midwest Division, and in June 1988 he became Executive Vice President of the company's National Service Center. Mr. Hill was appointed President in June 1990. Prior to joining Kimberly Quality Care, Mr. Hill served in various positions with Marion Laboratories located in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Hill received an MBA from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, is a member of the Rockhurst Executive Fellows Alumni, and serves as an Advisor to the Dean of the School of Business. He is a member of the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City, serves on the Board of Directors for Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, Board of Directors for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors for the National Restaurant Association, and is actively involved with the Sunflower House, a child abuse prevention center.
