Laurence Mccarthy – Focus Technologies Inc

LAURENCE R. McCarthy has served as the Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Focus Technologies, Inc., since July 2002. Previously, Dr. McCarthy served as President and CEO of Focus from 1988. Prior to joining Focus, Dr. McCarthy was President of Boehringer Mannheim's US diagnostics division (1985-1987), Vice President and General Manager of Becton Dickinson and the company's immunomicrobiology business (1983-1985), and Vice President of Research and Development for Becton Dickinson's microbiology businesses (1981-1983). He has served on the faculties of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and Cornell University School of Medicine. Dr. McCarthy received his PhD in Microbiology from the University of New Hampshire, underwent postdoctoral training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and attended the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard University School of Business.
