LARRY R. LINHART is President and CEO of AmeriLink Corporation.
He entered Indiana University, where in 1968 earned an A.B. degree in
Economics and Political Science while being an active member of Lambda
Chi Alpha fraternity, serving as President of the fraternity his senior
year. He graduated Cum Laude in 1971 from Indiana University School of
Law in Bloomington, Indiana. In June 1971, he joined the law firm of
Murphey Young & Smith, in Columbus, Ohio. The firm specialized in the
areas of business and corporate work. In January 1976, he was selected
as a partner of the firm where Mr. Linhart remained until October 1984.
While a practicing attorney specializing in business and corporate
affairs, he became very involved with many clients in assisting and
counseling them in many areas including growth issues pertaining to
their businesses. One of his clients was AmeriLink Corporation. Due to
the rapid growth of the company, the two founders discovered they needed
additional executive help within the company. AmeriLink Corporation
recruited him with a challenging offer which he accepted in October,
1984. From late 1984 until early 1986, Mr. Linhart worked with the two
founders of AmeriLink Corporation to respond to the challenges facing
the business. The challenges were both internal growth issues and issues
which developed due to the maturing of the cable TV business in the
mid-1980s. The 'build at any cost' approach was quickly disappearing. He
was elected President and CEO in July 1986, and at which time the
founders retired from an active management role within the company. His
wife Sherry and son Jonathan reside in New Albany, Ohio (a suburb of
Columbus).
